Sue is passionate about improving patients quality of life and has a wealth of hands on experience in a range of surgical and non-surgical techniques for vision correction.
Sue Ryan specialises in:
Refractive cataract surgeon. Sue has dual fellowship training in both retinal and corneal disease, and so has expertise in treating conditions that affect both the front and back of the eye.
Training & Experience
Sue completed her MBChB in 1994. She then travelled overseas locuming in a wide range of hospitals. Returning to NZ she completed her Ophthalmic specialist training at Auckland Hospital in 2004. She then returned to England for fellowship training in retinal and corneal disease. She gained invaluable knowledge and experience during her time there.
Sue continues to teach registrars and allied health professionals including Optometrists and General Practitioners and regularly attends international meetings and conferences. She has also played a leading role in a number of research initiatives.

Family & Personal Interests
Sue and her husband Dave enjoy living south of Auckland. They are gradually expanding their range of farm animals and are about to give emu’s a go.
