Training & Experience
After gaining his MBChB in 1992 Julian worked at Christchurch Hospital. He then spent some time as a Ophthalmology locum in London. Having completed his Ophthalmic specialist training at Auckland Hospital in 2001 he returned to England for fellowship training in oculoplastics, anterior segment, medical retina and uveitis. He gained invaluable knowledge and experience during his time there.
Julian continues to teach registrars and allied health professionals including Optometrists and General Practitioners and regularly attends international meetings and conferences. He has also played a leading role in a number of research initiatives.

Julian is kept busy by his three young boys. Summer holidays messing about on boats are always a favourite family past-time.
